Top 15 US Metros by Blasian Population

The original analysis only included statistics on Blacks and Asians combined which is the strict definition of Blasian. However in practice Black and Pacific Islander (such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is African Canadian and Samoan) are also commonly considered Blasians as well. This updated analysis includes the combinations of Black & Asian, Black & Pacific Islander, and Black & Asian & Pacific Islander which together comprise the broader definition of Blasian. The original analysis is still left intact for those who prefer that Blasian definition.

According to the 2010 United States Census, there are roughly 243,000 people of Black/African-American AND Asian descent AND Pacific Islander descent (informally known as Blasians) in the United States. Shown below are the top 15 US metros where Blasians lived by a) number of Blasians and by b) percent of the total metro, both for larger and smaller MSAs.

Blasians are currently small in number and only account for 0.08% of the overall US population today. Honolulu and Vallejo both have over 6X the US percent of Blasians and Killeen and Fayetteville both have over 3X the US percent of Blasians indicating a particular concentration of Blasians in these places. There also seems to be a fair correlation with military base cities which could be military guys bringing their Asian Pacific wives back to the US.
